Teatro romano de Orange

Epoch:

It was founded in 40 a. C. by the veterans of the Legio III Gallica of Julius Caesar and definitively closed in 39. It's one of the best preserved Roman theaters of the world showing his scene wall with its original size: 103 meters long by 37 high. The stage wall was formerly decorated with statues, friezes and marble columns, of which some vestiges remain.
Its capacity is estimated between 9,000 and 10,000 places.
